Recap of 2008. The Calvanese
Foundation had another outstanding year. We netted $80,000.00 from
our tenth Gala “Celebrate America” and a wonderful evening was
enjoyed by 650 guests. We must commend all of our volunteers for a
job well done. It is only with the dedication of so many volunteers
that our events are so successful. Most importantly, it is with the
continued support of our donors both individuals and businesses that
we are able to make a difference in the Southington Community. We
would like to that you again for your generous donations to the Gala
auction.
The seventeenth annual golf tournament held
this fall was also very successful. We had 230 golfers who enjoyed
a warm, sunny day of golf on the links at Southington Country Club.
Overall the tournament raised $45,000.00 as well. We would
especially like to thank those of you who made
donations.
In 2009 we distributed $99,535.00 for community
initiatives and scholarships. We have again granted a broad base of
community projects as seen by the attached list of disbursements
included with this letter. We continue to grow the foundation
endowment by committing a portion of each of our events to this
fund. We want to insure that going forward there will be a
permanent funding source for future needs in the Southington
community.
